Highlights from the February Meeting
We were fortunate to have Helen Sauter from Historic Richmond Town speak to us about Women in History. Do you know the name of the first woman who ran for President? Her name was Victoria Woodhull and she ran for President of the United States in 1872.
We also heard reports from our Committee Chairs on their activities.
We will be giving our four $1000 scholarships this year.
Our budget for 2016-2017 was unanimously passed.
We are still looking for recommendations for our Women Helping Women program. A couple of years ago we gave to the Good Counsel Residence and Harbor Lights Theater Company. We are asking you to provide names of organizations you would like to help.
Please submit a short recommendation that should include:
Name of organization or Project you are sponsoring
Details about the project
Amount of money it would take to fund this project, and
Why NYSWi-Staten Island Chapter should participate in this project
Submit your request, in writing, to Christine Olivieri Donahue
We also participated in a game to test your skills on Presidents and Valentine. One person at each table won a $10 scratch off ticket and all who participated received a $1 ticket. All received heart shaped cookies.
A fun time was had by all.
