I look forward to seeing you at our November meeting. Our last meeting was the Candidate’s Forum and was pleased to present the two candidates for District Attorney – Joan Illuzzi and Michael McMahon. They both provided us with important information about the position of District Attorney.

Our November meeting will feature Valerie Krause from the South Shore YMCA.

Attached is form to nominate someone you know for our Women of Distinction Award. Please bring completed form to our November meeting.

We had a very interesting and successful September meeting. We heard from Barbara Sanchez about the construction of our new web site. We also celebrated Geraldine Walters Smith’s 85th Birthday. Gerry has been a member for over 50 years.

I am happy to announce that we have joined the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce. Additional information can be found on page 2.

Our Candidate’s Forum will feature Joan Illuzzi and Michael McMahon who are running for District Attorney for Staten Island. Please be prepared to ask questions of both candidates. This should prove to be an interesting evening. Bring your friends

There is still time to make your reservation for the Region 2 Fall Meeting. Flyer is attached highlighting the information. This is a great opportunity to meet women from the other Chapters.

We are looking for women to honor at our Women of Distinction Luncheon on April 2nd. Attached is a copy of the form to use when submitting a candidate. Please forward your completed form to me by the November 17 meeting.

Greetings

Welcome back after our wonderful summer. I am looking forward to our new year and we have some exciting activities, which I hope you will enjoy.

It is with deep sadness that I announce the death of Phylis Prevosti a long time member of our Chapter. Our condolences go out to her family.

Please take the time to read the motions that are listed on page 2. We will be voting on them at the September meeting.

We are also looking for your recommendations on how to use some of our money to help women. Information on this can also be found on page 2.

In October we will have Candidate’s Night and there will be an exciting number of candidates running for office. Marie Illuzzi and Rosemarie Mangano have agreed to chair this event. If you would like to help, please don’t hesitate to contact them.

Don’t hesitate to let me know your wishes and recommendations for the coming year.
